Welcome to Craig Smith Music's page for piano and keyboard lessons in across the North West. The agency was set up when Craig Smith's very popular private piano and tuition school became overwhelmed with demand. We currently offer both home lessons and lessons at our studios, and are available to offer school piano and keyboard lessons in a peripatetic tuition capacity.
New Lessons Available: Our new piano teacher is now taking books at an introductory price of just £10.50 for 30mins!
Which instruments do we teachers teach? [Top]
We have several piano / keyboard teachers on our books. Lessons for beginners up to and including diploma standard are available. We also teach drums and percussion, guitar, flute, saxophone and recorder across the North West.
When and where do lessons take place? [Top]
Our piano lessons are available all over the North West; we have piano teachers in Preston, Darwen, Ormskirk and Salford covering most towns in Lancashire, the Fylde, Greater Manchester and Merseyside. Lessons are available most days. For exact vacancies, see the vacancies page.Who teaches the lessons? [Top]
Most of the teachers are past students or long-term associates of Craig (who you can read about on the other pages of this site).Kim is our busiest piano / keyboard teacher, covering our East Lancashire and Bolton lessons. Kim recently achieved one of the highest marks possible in her LCM diploma in piano playing and studied a music degree at Salford University. Kim teaches at students' homes and in schools.
Kim's lessons are now fully booked. We're working on finding the right new teacher for East Lancs. In the meantime, we've opened a waiting list.
Steph is trained at LIPA, 'the Paul McCartney Fame School'. She works as a composer and performer. Steph teaches both visit lessons and lessons hosted from a teaching studio to students in Preston and on the Fylde.
Sarah teaches woodwind and piano lessons in west Lancashire, Merseyside, Manchester and Chorley. Sarah, who is working on a career as a professional music teacher, is primarily a flautist (flute player) and has also studied music at Salford.
Dan is our newest teacher, living in Fulwood, providing lessons in and around Preston. He's offering a discount introductory rate of £10.50 for lessons at his home until the end of May. Dan also plays and teaches guitar, and gigs with his band.
Our teachers have to meet certain criteria before being accepted onto our books: high levels of ability on the instrument(s) to be taught, qualifications in performance and theory of music, and suitable teaching space when they teach from home or a studio. They are asked to provide a CRB disclosure.
