Welcome to Craig Smith Music's page for guitar lessons in Preston, Blackpool and their surrounds. We have teachers available for electric guitar, acoustic guitar and classical guitar. The tuition agency was set up when Craig Smith's very popular private tuition practice became overwhelmed with demand from prospective students. We currently have Paul and Dan on our books, both offering one-to-one guitar lessons; Dan's guitar lessons in Preston, and Paul's guitar lessons in Blackpool. Their guitar tuition is available in the form of home visit lessons, or from their teaching spaces, and Paul is also available to offer school guitar lessons in a peripatetic tuition capacity.

Which instruments do the teachers teach? [Top]
At present, we have two guitar tutors on our books in Paul and Dan, who together cover Preston (and surrounds), Blackpool, Kirkham and Lytham. Generally, Dan's are electric guitar lessons, although he does also play classical acoustic guitar. Paul teaches electric guitar, acoustic guitar and classical guitar. When and where do lessons take place? [Top]
Both Paul and Dan are mobile guitar teachers, teaching guitar lessons at students' homes, but also teach from their own spaces too.Dan, our Preston guitar teacher, who also offers piano and keyboard tuition, operates mainly on Tuesday evenings (more evenings will be made available when this fills). Paul's Blackpool guitar lessons take place on Thursdays, daytime and evening.
The other music teachers on our books live in or near to Ashton, Blackpool, Chorley, Darwen and Fulwood, covering the following areas: Ashton, Blackburn, Blackpool, Broughton, Chorley, Clitheroe, Cottam, Darwen, Ingol, Eccleston, Fulwood, Freckleton, Kirkham, Langho, Lea, Lytham St Annes, Poulton, Salford, Walton Le Dale, Warton, Whalley, Withnell, Wrea Green.
Who will teach my lesson? [Top]
Several of the teachers on our books are past students or long-term associates of Craig, meaning we are sure that they meet our expectations both personally and as musicians and teachers.Dan, our newest teacher, teaches both piano/keyboard lessons and guitar lessons in Preston and surrounds. He is available to visit students' homes, and also has a dedicated music space at home, where he teaches piano, keyboard and guitar lessons in Fulwood. Dan's our youngest teacher, at 18, yet he's achieved his grade 8 qualification and plays regularly with bands. He hopes to go on to study a music degree at LIPA or Leeds. Dan decided he'd offer an introductory rate of just £10.50 for 30 minutes guitar tuition at his house for his first three months with us. Visits will be slightly higher, depending on your location, and are available across Preston and out to Longridge, Kirkham etc.
We are pleased to offer guitar lessons Blackpool, Lytham St Annes, and their surrounds, with Paul. Paul's Blackpool guitar lessons can take place from a purpose-built acoustically-treated studio close to the Airport, easily accessible from most Fylde towns. However, he is available to visit student's homes too. Paul has a long-term performance contract that sees him travel the country at weekends, so guitar lessons in Blackpool and the Fylde will be on Thurdsay daytimes and evenings only until a second suitable Blackpool guitar teacher can be found. Paul teaches in schools, including Kirkham Grammar, and has worked with Craig since 2007 in a live setting.
All of our music teachers have to meet certain criteria before being formally accepted onto our books. These include, but aren't limited to, having high levels of ability on the instrument(s) to be taught, graded certifications in performance and theory of music, and suitable teaching space when they teach from home or a studio. They are also asked to provide a CRB disclosure.
